RETINA is a Latin American cultural platform based in New York City, founded by Rafael Acata. Through photography, publications, exhibitions, and collaborative projects, it seeks to create spaces for connection, dialogue, and exchange among artists, communities, and diverse audiences.

Since its inception, Retina has worked with photographers from a wide range of backgrounds and trajectories, maintaining a particular interest in Latin American voices and in the diversity of approaches that contemporary photography can offer.

Rather than adhering to a specific genre or style, Retina is interested in photographic practices driven by curiosity, intention, and a strong personal vision. We understand photography as a tool for exploring ideas, building connections, and fostering conversations that extend beyond the image itself.

Through exhibitions, publications, conversations, and future community-based initiatives, Retina aims to contribute to an open, accessible, and constantly evolving cultural ecosystem, connecting local and international perspectives through a Latin American lens.
